“The music feels like it’s been pulled from the depths of a forgotten dream, each note wrapped in a shroud of mystery. There’s a haunting quality to the way Raudiver blends the delicate with the dark, where the ethereal meets the eerie.”
—Alice Teeple at Post-Punk.com
“They’re taking their darker musical tendencies from the past and really pushing them forward, building songs on synthetic beats and Charlie’s distorted riff work, creating this dense brand of dark pop. Lauren’s voice continues to be the lighthouse of pop in the darkened storm of their craft.”
—Nathan Lankford at Austin Town Hall
"Using the hazy dream-pop of Lauren and Charles Eddy's beloved indie band El Lago as a sort of backdrop, Raudiver adds an electronic sheen that is both more trance-like and harder-edged."
—Chris Gray at The Houston Chronicle
“It’s a retro sound sure to please devotees of 4AD’s golden age. In the band’s noisiest moments there were hints of Jesus and Mary Chain. In its poppiest, Echo & the Bunnymen.“
—Sid Sowder at Too Much Rock
Bio
Named after ghostly voices, Raudiver traces a winding path through goth pop and darkwave, with ethereal vocals and hazy shoegaze textures anchored by danceable beats. Married duo Lauren Villarreal Eddy and Charlie Eddy push through their shoegaze/dream pop origins in EL LAGO to explore new and more personal expressions, crafting songs from a Victorian studio that weathered the disastrous 1900 Storm on Galveston Island.
In anticipation of their debut album, Leave Before Dark, Raudiver joined TEMPTRIX on tour, and the duo has also opened for Provoker, HighSchool, Haunt Me, Nite, and more.
Leave Before Dark debuted on September 13th on Geodesic Records, and Raudiver will be finishing out 2024 with a full calendar of regional tour dates.
